Informatica Broadens Cloud-Based MDM Offerings Through Strategic Alliances with Microsoft and Oracle

In a move to enhance enterprise readiness for agentic and generative AI initiatives, Informatica has unveiled deeper integrations of its Master Data Management (MDM) capabilities with Microsoft, Oracle, and Salesforce. These partnerships are designed to provide businesses with more reliable and unified data sources for AI-driven applications.
Empowering AI with Trusted Data
Industry experts highlight the significance of this expansion, emphasizing that MDM plays a foundational role in building trustworthy data ecosystems. According to Stewart Bond, Research VP at IDC, “Agentic AI relies heavily on clean, consolidated data. MDM lays the groundwork for a dependable data environment—something critical when deploying autonomous agents.”
Despite growing investments by cloud giants in data integration and analytics, core MDM functionalities have often remained underdeveloped. Informatica’s latest collaboration addresses this gap by embedding its MDM solutions into widely used cloud infrastructures.
Oracle Cloud Integration Enhances Multi-Domain Data Management
Through its alliance with Oracle, Informatica will offer native support for its MDM services within Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This integration, part of the Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) platform, empowers enterprises to implement a multi-domain MDM strategy, promoting better consistency and governance across diverse data types.
This setup not only broadens Oracle’s ecosystem but also provides enterprises with additional choices. Although Oracle maintains its own MDM tools, Bond notes that the partnership introduces valuable flexibility for companies aiming to refine their master data processes.
Additionally, Informatica will release specialized connectors to facilitate seamless interaction between IDMC and key Oracle services like Autonomous Database and Object Storage. These enhancements are slated for general availability in October.
Microsoft Fabric Gains MDM Extension Support
Furthering its mission to integrate MDM across top-tier platforms, Informatica has introduced MDM360 extensions into Microsoft Fabric. These prebuilt assets are intended to simplify MDM deployments, especially for organizations managing vast volumes of data across departments.
Two main categories of extensions are being offered. The first focuses on integration, allowing for rapid configuration with frequently used platforms such as SAP and Salesforce. The second set targets specific industry needs, helping businesses tailor MDM processes to their domain-specific challenges.
