RHEL AI and JBoss EAP 8 Now Accessible via Azure Cloud
Red Hat is enhancing its cloud offerings by bringing Red Hat Enterprise Linux AI (RHEL AI) and JBoss Enterprise Application Platform (EAP) 8 to Microsoft Azure, aiming to simplify AI model development and advance Java application modernization.
Expanding Collaboration Between Red Hat and Microsoft
Announced on November 19, Red Hat has partnered with Microsoft to deliver RHEL AI and JBoss EAP 8 on Azure. These technologies will be accessible through the Azure Marketplace, offering developers tools for optimizing their cloud-based workflows.
RHEL AI serves as a robust platform tailored for building and deploying generative AI solutions within Microsoft Azure. This solution incorporates IBM’s Granite family of open-source large language models (LLMs), which are designed to support scalable AI applications. It also includes tools from InstructLab, leveraging the LAB (Large-Scale Alignment for Chatbots) methodology, to facilitate community-driven model development. Additionally, RHEL AI provides seamless integration with Red Hat OpenShift AI, enabling efficient model customization and deployment using familiar tools. Azure users can expect the RHEL AI platform to launch on the Azure Marketplace in December 2024.
Modernizing Java Applications with JBoss EAP 8
JBoss EAP 8, the latest iteration of Red Hat’s Java application server, made its debut in February 2024. With support for Jakarta EE 10, it offers tools for upgrading Java applications to meet modern standards while addressing critical requirements like security and compliance.
Now available on Azure, JBoss EAP 8 enables organizations to enhance their development processes across hybrid cloud environments. Users can take advantage of Azure services, such as Azure Red Hat OpenShift, Azure Virtual Machines, and Azure App Service, to streamline modernization efforts.
Driving Innovation in Cloud Ecosystems
By integrating these tools into the Azure ecosystem, Red Hat and Microsoft aim to empower enterprises with scalable, secure, and innovative solutions. RHEL AI provides a foundation for AI-driven projects, while JBoss EAP 8 facilitates modernized, efficient Java development. Together, these offerings highlight the growing synergy between open-source technologies and cloud platforms.
